How to avoid dry air

Indoor air can often be very dry, especially in winter. Experts recommend a relative humidity indoors of 40-60%. Humidifiers from BONECO can help you create a healthy indoor climate.

  • Static in hair, clothes and wool blankets
  • Dry mucous membranes in the nose and throat

  • Reduced ability to perform tasks and concentrate
  • Can cause headaches
  • Adverse effects on our immune system
  • Cracked wooden furniture and flooring
  • Out-of-tune wooden instruments

WHAT IT'S ABOUT

When relative humidity is low, there is a feeling of dry air. The relative humidity is the amount of water vapour in the air at a certain temperature compared to what the air can “hold” at that temperature. A proven fact is that water vapour depends on air pressure and temperature. The warmer the air, the more water vapour it can absorb. Conversely, the colder the air, the less water vapour can be absorbed. (source)

  • Central heating additionally heats up the already dry air, but the air does not automatically absorb more water vapour.
  • Your air conditioning system can also dry out the air. If the air conditioning is set too cold, the indoor air may lose moisture and the relative humidity can drop below 40%.

How to increase the humidity level of indoor air?

  • Use Humidifier and set up the options of the device to keep the humidity level 40-60%
  • Reduce cooking fumes
  • Dry your laundry outside
  • Move your house plants
"Cold outdoor air and heating up the room or using air-conditioning in hot summer days dries the room air, which has unpleasant side effects for people. We used this as an opportunity to develop our units to suit your needs.”
