How high is the optimal relative humidity level

 

  • The optimal relative humidity level is 40% – 60%. This value is also recommended by doctors.

What is the positive effect of professional air humidification

 

  • Improves your well-being, day and night
  • Prevents dry skin, scratchy throats and red eyes
  • Strengthens the immune system and reduces the risk of allergies for your children
  • Assists in recovery after athletic performance
  • Decreases flu viruses and pollen in the air
  • Creates a good climate for animals, plants, wood furniture and musical instruments
  • Minimizes dirt particles in indoor air

May fragrances/essential oils be used

 

  • Essential oils may only be used in appliances with an integrated fragrance container.
  • In appliances that are not compatible with fragrances/essential oils, just a small amount is enough to damage the plastic.

Why is ventilation alone not enough to achieve an optimal indoor relative humidity level during the winter

 

  • Room air becomes drier through opening a window because cold outdoor air cannot absorb much moisture. Only fresh oxygen enters the room through open windows. Though the air that makes its way indoors during the winter may be fresh, it does not contain enough moisture to humidify the warm room air.

Where is the best area to place my humidifier

Why is the hygrometer in my appliance displaying a different relative humidity than an external hygrometer

 

  • Air circulation in the room is the critical factor. For this reason, the relative humidity is not the same throughout the entire room. This means that the appliance should not be located near a heater, a poorly insulated window/door or a radiator.

What causes the plastic-like odor

 

  • This odor is completely harmless and results from the fact that the appliance is packaged immediately following production, and the odor of new plastic has not completely gone away. If you would like, you can place the appliance outside in dry weather for a brief period to eliminate the odor completely.

Bluetooth connection between app and device
How do I connect the device for the first time?
  • Please download the "BONECO healthy air" app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store .
  • Please make sure that both Bluetooth and location services are enabled on your smartphone.
  • Launch the app and select your device (e.g. H300, H400 or W400) by clicking on it. 
  • The setup screen will guide you step by step through the pairing process:
    • Press the large black button on the device for at least 3 seconds until the LEDs flash blue or "bt" appears on the device display, depending on the model.
    • If pairing is successful, the app indicates that the connection still needs to be confirmed on the device.
    • To confirm, briefly press the black button again and the device is paired with your smartphone.
       
  • Now you can control all functions of your device. In addition, the app will remind you when cleaning is due, you can set timers, view the user manual for your device and conveniently purchase additional accessories.
  • You may see an update for a new firmware, please download it to always benefit from the latest features.

My smartphone does not find the device

After each step, check if a connection can be established:

  • Please check if Bluetooth and location services are activated on your smartphone.
  • Reset your BONECO device to factory default by pressing and holding the black button on the device for about 30 seconds until the LEDs light up red or "Fd" appears on the device display, depending on the model.
  • Delete the BONECO app and reinstall it.
  • Check whether you have installed virus protection that prevents connecting to Bluetooth devices and deactivate it.

Why do I need to enable location services for the connection?
  • Since 2018, Google requires the activation of the location service by default when connecting between smartphone and Bluetooth device. Unfortunately, it is technically not possible to connect otherwise, we have to comply with these guidelines.
  • Of course, we do not evaluate location data - your privacy is very important to us!
  • However, you can allow the app to access your location so that we can show you the current weather (including temperature and humidity) at your position. This is not mandatory, you can also manually enter your location for the weather service.

Why does the cleaning symbol appear right after using cleaning mode

 

  • The water base was not emptied after operation in cleaning mode. Empty the water base and reinsert it into the appliance.
  • Cleaning mode was canceled. Press and hold the triangle buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds to hide the cleaning symbol.

  • Fan blade blocked or motor is defective.
  • Unplug the appliance, check that the fan blade can turn freely, plug the appliance back in; contact a service center if the problem persists.

What is the difference between the Air Purifiers and the HYBRID H680 Humidifier & Purifier appliance

 

The P500 and P400 are Air Purifiers. The HYBRID H680 Humidifier & Purifier or  HYBRID H300 Humidifier & Purifier  appliance can either be put into operation as a humidifier or Air Purifier, or as a combination of both systems.

How do I clean the disc assembly

 

  • Do not clean dirty humidifier discs in the dishwasher. The humidifier discs may deform when subjected to high temperatures.
  • If the humidifier discs have just a small amount of lime scale, the humidification performance of the appliance is improved.

Does the Air Washer filter the tobacco odor from the air

 

  • The Air Washer is a humidifier and has a low cleaning output for room air.

Steam Humidifier — These FAQs relate to the appliances: S200, S250, S450
My S200 / S250 is switched on, but there is no steam coming out

 

  • S250:

 

The S250 is equipped with a sensor that adjusts to the chosen humidity level. When this level is reached, the device will not emit any steam. If this is not the case, please see below paragraph.

 

  • S200 & S250:

 

If your device does not emit any steam anymore, please check if there is limescale residue on the heating plate. For your safety, this device is equipped with an automatic safety shut-down feature of the heating plate which will be triggered in case of extensive limescale residue. Please clean your device as shown in the manual.

What kind of accessories are required for a Steam Humidifier

 

  • The A451 Anti-Mineral-Pad decreases the calcification of the vaporizer basin and reduces the frequency of necessary decalcification.

Why can't I use treated water in a humidifier

 

  • Although lime is removed from treated water (ion exchanger), sodium ions are added to it at the same time. The descaler cartridge is unable to filter these sodium ions, and they leave behind a white dust.

  • No, it cannot. If the bottom of the A7018 Evaporator mat is coated with lime scale, it can be inserted upside down into the appliance. This will increase the service life of the Evaporator mat for a few operating hours
