Can I clean the filters with a vacuum cleaner or with water?

Vacuuming the replacement filter is not recommended for the following reasons:Risk of damage: Suction of a filter can potentially damage the sensitive fibers or components of the filter, reducing its effectiveness.Release of particles: Vacuuming can release trapped particles back into the air, which can defeat the purpose of an air purifierReduced efficiency: Extraction does not remove all impurities from the filter, especially fine dust, and thus does not create a hoped-for extension of the service life of the filter, as the capacity is not renewed despite extraction.Most spin-on filters are also not designed to be cleaned underwater. There are several reasons for this:Damage to the filter structureHEPA filters are made of densely packed fibers that trap particles. Water can soften, displace or destroy these fibres, causing the filter to lose its ability to effectively trap the smallest particles such as pollen, dust or allergens.MouldEven if the filter is dried after cleaning, residual moisture often remains. This can lead to mold growth, which not only affects filter performance, but can also be harmful to health.Material not waterproofMany filters contain materials such as paper, glass fibers or special plastics that are not waterproof. These materials can be irreparably damaged by water.Loss of warrantyCleaning a filter that is not intended for this purpose can affect the warranty of the device, as it is often considered improper use.Most of our air purifiers offer washable pre-filters that trap larger particles such as hair and dust. These can be cleaned, while the actual HEPA or activated carbon filter should be replaced regularly.
